Children and Young People Support

This service is part of the Big Lottery funded Positive Intervention and Prevention (PIP) Project and is free for families to refer to.

1:1 support sessions are by Referral only.  A Programme of support lasts for 6 weeks (in exceptional cases, support may continue longer), sessions are for 1 hour per week on an agreed day and time”.  These sessions are provided free of charge for families, we do however ask that families carry out some fundraising to support the Charity wherever possible.

Twinkle House takes a child-centred approach to supporting children and young people who may be experiencing a range of difficulties including:

* Social and emotional difficulties

* Anger and behaviour problems

* Loss, bereavement and attachment issues

* Mental health needs including stress, anxiety, and depression

Our goal is to provide our children and young people with realistic and meaningful strategies, enable them to take control of their emotions and reduce the stress and anxiety that prevents them from achieving their personal potential.

We believe that no one diagnosis is ever the same. Our highly qualified team ensure strategies used are tailored to suit each child or young person’s need. Our ethos of prevention, early intervention and the promotion of positive mental health and wellness provides our children and young people a greater chance of remaining in school and developing meaningful and long lasting friendships with their peers.

PLEASE NOTE:

When children and young people are attending sessions; parents, carers, and support workers must remain on site, but may not be required in sessions. * During sessions, student nurses or social workers may be in attendance as support, and in some cases will take the sessions under the direction of our nurse social worker.
